New Framework for Enhancing Student Learning

The new Framework for Enhancing Student Learning replaces the former School Planning Council and District Achievement Contract processes.

The Framework for Enhancing Student Learning formalizes school district and school planning and reporting requirements of the Board of Education for improving student outcomes in B.C.'s public school system. The Framework helps align provincial k-12 accountability requirements with other ongoing transformation efforts (e.g. curriculum competencies, assessment, communicating student learning, graduation program) and evidence-based practices that enhance student learning.

S.D.# 81's new Framework for Enhancing Student Learning Policy #1320 outlines the School District's annual planning and reporting process and timelines, including ways for involving partners in local planning efforts. Policy 1320 Enhancing Student Learning 2.pdf

Each year the Board of Education for School District #81 endeavors to present their Friends of Education Award. This award is presented to an individual(s) (non-employee) or organization(s) for long standing or extraordinary service to the education programs in School District #81. The Trustees invite members of the public to assist them in their selection process.

If you are able to identify an individual or organization that fulfills the above criteria, please submit the name with a brief outline by 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 to:

Welcome to School District 81
The Fort Nelson School District serves students from the town of Fort Nelson and the Northern Rockies Regional District. The School District has five schools. There are four schools in the township of Fort Nelson, the J.S. Clark Elementary School, the G.W. Carlson Elementary School serving kindergarten to Grade four students, the R.L. Angus Elementary School serving students in Grades 5 to 7, and Fort Nelson Secondary School serving students in Grades 8 to 12. Our one rural school, Toad River School serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
