FNSS Graduation Transitions Requirement



Overview:
The Graduation Transitions Requirement is intended to prepare you for a successful transition into life after secondary school. In order to meet this goal, Graduation Transitions encourages you to:
  • take ownership of your health and learning
  • examine & demonstrate connections between your learning and your future
  • create a plan for your growth and development as skilled, healthy, knowledgeable, participating citizens
  • exhibit attributes of a BC graduate
Responsibilities:

You are responsible for planning and preparing your education, career, and life goals through Graduation Transitions. Schools are responsible for ensuring that you have opportunities to meet the learning outcomes described in this guided workbook.  Teachers are responsible for assessing and providing feedback to you. Graduation Transitions is an opportunity for you to reflect on your knowledge and abilities and plan for life after graduation by reflecting on your achievements in the following three areas:

1.1  Personal Health
Daily Physical Activity and commitment to fitness and physical and emotional well-being are key to healthy living. In this component of Graduation Transitions, you develop the knowledge, attitudes, and habits needed to be healthy individuals by maintaining a personal health plan, and participating in at least 80 hours of moderate to vigorous physical activity.

1.2  Community Connections
Life after graduation includes the owrld of work and community responsibilites. As part of Graduation Transitions, you gain employability skills trough participation in at least 30 hours of work experience and/or community service

1.3  Career and Life
Graduation Transitions requires you to explore personal and career goals during your secondary school years, and create a plan for life after graduation. Transition planning in an ongoing process throughout grade 12, and requires the completion of a transition plan
