Aztec Trade and Agriculture

AZTEC TRADE

Aztecs traded for what most peoples and tribes wanted knifes, tools, cloth, fur, food, clothing, pots and crafting materials and metals. Merchants also traveled far and wide for luxury items like gold and bird feathers and in the market place a wide variety of items all in different price. But the main currency was the coco bean which is pretty cool.

AZTEC AGRICULTURE 

The Aztecs used 2 types of farming but they were known for 1 in particular

Chinampas

They were amazing man made island’s in their swampy lakes and ponds they worked very well because they had water feeding the plants all the time with no effort they just used canoe’s to plant and harvest.

Terracing

Was the second method of farming they would dig hills to make a huge staircase of dirt then they would plant on they steps making a hill into a decent mass Production farming hill.

Plants They Grew

They grew three plants more than any other because of how they helped each other grow and thrive if planted together they were corn, beans and squash also known as the 3 sisters. They also grew tomatoes, avocados, chilli peppers, limes, onions, amaranth, peanuts, sweet potatoes and jimacas(Mexican turnip and yam bean). Then they also grew flowers to make their farms a even more colourful.
